Who we are and what is important to us:
The children's island of Alt-Reinickendorf is a place where children feel safe, secure and welcome. Every child is unique and brings their own personality, interests and individual pace of development. We see this diversity as an enrichment and accompany each child with appreciation, respect and trust.
Our pedagogical work is based on the Berlin education program, the situational approach, and the principles of participation. We want to encourage children to discover their environment with curiosity, to gather their own experiences, and to actively contribute their ideas. In doing so, they experience that their opinions are taken seriously and that they can contribute to their daycare routine.
We promote the children’s social, emotional, motor and cognitive development and create diverse opportunities for playing, moving, exploring, creating and learning. Reliable relationships, positive interaction and an atmosphere where every child feels accepted and seen are particularly important to us.
Community, mutual respect, and respectful interaction shape our everyday lives. We want to help children develop self-confidence, take on responsibility, and be open to other people.
Our pedagogical concept details how we live and shape this basic attitude in the everyday life of the children’s island of Alt-Reinickendorf.
What we do for it
We design our daycare routine so that children can discover their world in an inspiring and at the same time safe environment. A respectful atmosphere, stable relationships with adults, and reliable structures provide the children with orientation and security.
Our pedagogical professionals accompany the children attentively and on an equal footing. They tap into the children’s interests and topics, create diverse educational opportunities, and support them in developing their skills and talents. In doing so, we understand education as a shared process of discovery, experimentation, and learning.
Trustful cooperation with families is an essential component of our pedagogical work. Through regular exchange, we establish a partnership in education that is characterized by openness, transparency, and mutual respect. Together, we support the children on their individual development journey.
We continuously reflect on our pedagogical work and develop it further as a team. Regular training courses, professional exchange, and orientation towards the Berlin educational program and current findings in early childhood education support us in continuously improving the quality of our work.
Our goal is to offer every child a place where they feel comfortable, can develop trust, and learns with joy. A place where children can be children and are best supported in their development.
